Turns out it was a perfectly nice day in NYC for meeting
a Zombie.

He was so nice, didn't even try to bite me.
I've been a fan of the theatrics in music since my 7 year
old eyes first got filled by the impressive fun of Alice Cooper.
I like seeing a SHOW with my live music ticket. If you are
like me and a fan of the old Hammer style films as well as
the 70's buckets of blood ones.. You'll appreciate their
shows and get the little clever references here and there
that come up and make you laugh and appreciate that you
stayed up too late at night as a kid watching classic horror movies.

Wow, what a fun few months it's been
Massive thank yous are indeed in order!
Thank you to all the USA EA fans that came out to visit us

On the night of the last EA show I flew directly to Los Angeles
to start work on a new film "Dracula's Daughters VS Space
Brains" Written by Ezekiel Zabrowski and Teller. Directed by Ezekiel
and Frank Ippolito.
I play Dracula's Daughter "Marketa". My sister "Marya"
is played by the beautiful Erica Taylor and my co-star "Dan"
is played by the amazingly talented Neil Patrick Harris.
I am ecstatic to be part of this.

Thank you to the amazing cast and crew! Oh, and
while at the Chiodo Brothers Studio Frank was kind enough
to let me hold the amazing Popcorn Gun! As a horror nerd that
adores "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" I was full of happy!
I got to be surrounded by amazing talent, I got to fly, I got to
hit a stunt man, and I got to hold THE popcorn gun! haha
Yeah.. life's kinda rad in Aprella land.

Also, the movie I told you about before that
I did with the amazing Oren Shai this summer
"Condemned" is now complete and will premier
in late January 2010! I will keep
you updated on this rad happening as well!
Check out the ultra cool lobby card!

Well lovelies, I just got home to NYC in time to see the pounds
of snow hit.
So, seems I need to be catching up on my NYC fun and trouble
for a couple weeks. Then it seems the UK, Europe and
Australia have spotted me and are plotting to bring me
back to them next month w/ EA! Check the "Events" for dates!

the past 2 months. I have many photo shoots to post and a few that
are about to be printed in some rather sassy fashion magazines.
Ohh the details will come!
But, before I go telling you tales of what's entailed. I'd like to invite
you to come out and tell me yours!
I will be performing for The All-Star Premiere of "The Vroom! Room"!
on Monday August 3rd. Details are below!
Monday, August 3, 2009 at 10:00PM
The Slipper Room
167 Orchard St (corner of Orchard & Stanton)

The premiere of The Vroom! Room will feature an all-star lineup of
burlesque superstars including Veronica Vroom!, GiGi La Femme, Aprella,
Ruby Valentine, Runaround Sue, Sapphire Jones, Madame Rosebud,
Ferro, Connie Baker, and Kristen Lee!

What is "The Vroom! Room"?
"The Vroom! Room" is a stylishly sexy burlesque noir show
that promises to add some mystery back to the art of the
strip tease. Hosted by the enigmatic Joey Nova and his
pouty accomplice Veronica Vroom!, and ensconced in
the velvety haze of The Slipper Room, "The Vroom! Room"
offers a keyhole perspective into the world of glittering
spectacle with voyeuristic delight. It's also a great opportunity
to catch some of burlesque's familiar faces in a whole new way.
"The Vroom! Room" makes no apologies for
being seriously sexy. You are officially invited to take
part in the voyeuristic vision of Veronica Vroom!

On January 31st, stunners Veronica Varlow and Aprella will do an onstage tribute to Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" Plus, fine tunes, booze and fabulous prizes. Hosted by art provocateur Molly Crabapple.

Also, my interview with IndanOs in Tel-Aviv, Israel is up for reading. Read Hebrew? Well then you can read my interview about my opinions on fashion, art, war and view the photos here:
http://scena.co.il/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=101:aprella-&catid=31:2008-12-27-17-54-09&Itemid=46
For those of you speaking and reading English I’ve posted what I believe to be the cheat sheet to it below. Anyone that speaks/reads both can let me know what’s right/wrong.

Q: When did you start modeling? who was inspired you to do that? what is your memories from your first photo shoots?
A - I started out in the fashion world when I was about 12 years old in Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve always been inspired by the art of emotions and the needs to vent them. I was lucky in life that I found my courage in modeling. I recall my first photo shoot being a very big production with three make-up artists, two hair stylists, several racks of clothing, a jewelry stylist and the designer and photographer. I recall that all had their eyes on me and I wondered what on earth I’d gotten myself into. I was running in my head that they all paid for this and expected me to deliver something I didn’t know much about. But, soon as I got in front of the camera I realized I knew way more than I thought. Modeling is about expressing emotions and I’ve got no shortage of doing that. The job clicked in me and I found a brilliant tool for venting.
Q: As a model, being able to look and wear the latest and the most unique fashion, but also a very big direction of style,
what is the most attractive style for you? any favourite designer?
A- Absolutely! One of the best perks of being a model is the unique fashion that I get to come in contact with. Most attractive style for me is one that is classy, sexy, and unique. Favorite designers would be Jennifer Nicholson, Alexander McQueen, Veritee Hill, Kathleen Marie Couture, and Vivienne Westwood’s shoes make me drool.
Q: Your photos are very extreme and daring, involving nudity and very seducing poses, and a performer being into many roles, how do you get in to the role?
where is the glamour coming from?
A- haha.. thanks! Well, the nudity is usually covered in body paint and if you feel seduced well, I’ll just take that as a compliment. There’s no real method for getting into the role for me really. The “glamour” you see is me allowing myself to feel the feelings of the energy in me. I take my own memories and vent them out as emotions for the camera or stage. I just rage in and out of the many things that make up who I am. Above all I strive to deliver my emotions as a form of art.
Q: Outsiders looking at the whole gothic/fetish looks and fashion as weirdo’s having a personal problems, and very complex, how do you see those people?
A- I honestly don’t make time for people that have nothing but negative thoughts to share. I’m enjoying my life and I am happy.
Q: What's fashion for you? what is the fetish fashion and scene for you?
A- Fashion for me is a way of life. I wouldn’t know what to do without my closet full of dresses and floor full of shoes. I’m not a diva but, I sure enjoy dressing like one. As for the fetish fashion and scene for me I really don’t know. I just wonder around in the world where I find an interest. I don’t take much time to notice if it’s one scene or another. I just enjoy what I enjoy and do what I do.
Q: Can you tell me a bit about aprella outside the set? sitting at home? what do you like at your own private place?
how does your house looks like? is it extreme or like an escape place?
A- I spend time with my partner David Stoupakis and our amazing family of friends. I try to just relax but, I confess, I’m a major adrenaline junkie so I’m probably on the nearest roller coaster or motorcycle. Mostly, I just try to keep happy and try to make a dent in the world in a positive way. My home at the moment has a ton of boxes piled high as I’m about to move in a week. On a more normal day, I have tons of paintings on the walls and a beautiful Siamese cat that patrols the grounds.
Q: What about relationship, how does the model job effects it? what's your current status?
A- I only keep positive people around me so I only have supportive relationships in my world. Every great job I get comes with a giant hug and words of being proud of me from my partner David Stoupakis. I am gone from my home base NYC about 50% or more of the year and I am living my dream life. The ones closest to me know that and are very happy for me. My current status is Alive and Well.
Q: You're also been involved in the music business, not only as a model covering CD covers but also had some gigs with
Emily autumn, can you please tell me something about that, are you planning in making something of your own?
A – I’ve always been a girl with my heart stuck in music. It’s just part of me and I’ll never be without it in my life. At one time I had a metal band and since 2007 I’ve been part of the Emilie Autumn and The Bloody Crumpets tours as a back up singer and dancer. I love Emilie and the girls to no end. We share a very strong unbreakable bond and I’m very grateful to have such amazing girls to share stage rage time and insane tour bus pillow fights with.
Q: I heard that you've done some acting for Amnesty, what are your thoughts about the human rights today? have you heard about
Israel and the whole ongoing war between the jews and palastinians?
A- I did do a very powerful commercial about human rights for Amnesty International. My wishful ideas on human rights are centered about finding a common ground, cooperation and understanding that we are all pretty much the same in this world when it comes to the basics. We need to understand and come to a positive place of comfort with one another. Wars have never solved anything but to prove that one side can kill more than the other. And what’s that worth? Nothing. NOTHING! Wasted life depresses the fuck out of me. The whole world needs cooperation and training programmes in the administration of justice. Yes, I am aware of the wars. I just wish the wars were aware of how utterly useless they are.
Q: Finally, any special tips on being goth, fetish, being glamour?
A- Just be yourself and remember that it’s you living in that shell. Decorate it any way you want and remember to take care of it as well as the ones you love.

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID STOUPAKIS !!!
The Vegas trip was AMAZING! Thank you to M Modern Gallery, 944 Magazine and Hard Rock Hotel for the invite. David and I had a great time at this years “Crimes on Canvas” show! My girl and amazing artist Lori Earley was also showing work at “Crimes on Canvas”. So of course she, John, David and I hit the 110 degree Vegas heat for fun together. But, who cares about the heat.. it’s VEGAS! and in the off time we had a blast riding roller coasters at New York New York and Circus Circus Adventuredome.
Jay and MiShell Nailor of M Modern Gallery are truly wonderful and made our time in Las Vegas memorable with a night of dinner at Kerry Simon’s new place Simon Restaurant at Palms Place where not only was the atmosphere and food amazing but for dessert we ordered what I could hardly believe seeing on the menu.. A Platter of Junk Food! Yep, Pink Cotton Candy, Caramel Popcorn, Hostess cupcakes, ice cream scoops, a chocolate milkshake and I’m sure I’m forgetting more..
Oh, and as of just 2 weeks ago… I am in fact a BLONDE. Veronica Lake look-alike photos coming soon. But, here’s a few candid shots from Las Vegas.

Well, guess who hit the road without their brand new Aprella.com on their laptop to do updates?? So, allow me to say, "sorry" and boy do I have stores for you now that I’m back home.

My month long tour with Emilie Autumn and the Bloody Crumpets was met with one great night after the other and so many inside jokes created that we could start our own language of coded words. Our silly skulls hit the stages in Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and the UK to round out the 2nd leg of the Plague tour. Thank you to everyone that came out to get infected. Some of you even stayed hours after just to make sure you got a C.O.A that you officially got it. Wow. I really do appreciate all the love.

Now, it’s photos to edit, e-mails to answer, and maybe a few hours of much needed sleep
Be back soon.
......................................................................
Welcome to the new Aprella.com!
First things first; Thank you to Morgana of www.iberianblackarts.com for designing the new site. And thank you to David Stoupakis of www.davidstoupakis.com for helping me so much with getting this all together and for being my constant comfort in my life.
I’ve spent the better part of the last year creating some amazing work with insanely talented artists, walking some long ass catwalks in front of giant crowds, and I’ve also been touring the world as a back up singer and performance artist with Emilie Autumn and the Bloody Crumpets. I’ve had some of the best days of my life singing on no sleep with these lovely ladies and come April 2008 I’m out for it again! So watch out for The Plague Pt. 2 tour Europe! Check my Events for the dates.
The year 2007 was one of the busiest years of my life so far. I found myself working in another country at least one week of every month of 2007. While that schedule is more of the same for this year at least now I have a better idea on where my down time is and I can update more knowing that. So no more slacking off with updates!
Alright, so go have a look around. Check out the store for official Aprella.com merchandise. And see you all soon!
